IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - THIS TIMETABLE SHOWS ALL BUSES BETWEEN FARO AND LAGOA ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT ROUTES.

This timetable also shows the buses that run onwards to Portimão and Lagos
There is a frequent local service daily between Portimão and Lagos, also from Lagoa to Portimão
A LIST OF THE OTHER BUSES IS AT THE END OF THIS TIMETABLE

MOST OF THE BUSES SHOWN BELOW DO NOT RUN AT WEEKENDS OR ON HOLIDAYS;
CHECK CAREFULLY FOR THE DAYS ON WHICH BUSES RUN.
THIS TIMETABLE APPLIES ALL YEAR ROUND; THERE ARE NO EXTRA BUSES IN SUMMER.

"Interurban" Buses in the Algarve do NOT have route/line numbers as they do in most of Europe.
Check bus type at the head of the column - shown here for your guidance..
TR - Faro - Lagos TRANSRAPIDO bus. Stops only at the places shown in the timetable plus some other locations in the city of Faro
AL - Algarve Littoral fast bus. Stops only at the places shown in the timetable plus Portimão (Rotunda da Hospital) about 7 minutes before Portimão itself.
DIR - DIRECTA interurban semi-fast bus Faro to Albufeira via Quarteira; misses some stops; details here
NOR - NORMAL interurban (slow) bus Faro - Albufeira via Quarteira; INT - "Ordinary" bus on other interurban routes.

TICKETS - IF BOARDING AT A BUS TERMINAL YOU MUST BUY YOUR TICKET AT THE TICKET WINDOW BEFORE GETTING ON THE BUS.
ALLOW A FEW MINUTES FOR THIS ESPECIALLY AT FARO. OTHERWISE BUY YOUR TICKET FROM THE DRIVER AS USUAL

MFO - bus runs Mondays to Fridays (weekdays) only, except holidays
SAT - bus runs on Saturdays only, except holidays  SSH - bus runs Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays only
SHX - bus does not run on Sundays or Holidays SHO - bus runs on Sundays and Holidays only

FOR BUSES IN THE OTHER DIRECTION PLEASE CLICK HERE
AM - runs to Aldeia do Mar in Vilamoura
A - on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays this bus starts from Faro at 0720 and runs via Loulé at 0800.
B - from Pera and Alcantarilha on Schooldays only. When schools are closed, starts at Armação de Pera
C - from Pera MFO, Saturdays starts in Armação de Pera
D - there is a bus from Portimão to Lagos at 2000; it does NOT run via Praia da Rocha etc.
F - the last bus from Portimão to Torralta and Alvor is now at 1945hrs weekdays, 1930hrs weekends and holidays.
G - the last bus from Portimão to Praia da Rocha is now at 2008hrs except that later buses run in July and August - click here for details.
(A separate ticket is needed for these connecting buses)
 
XXX - I have observed that this bus does not wait if the 1150 from Albufeira is late.

OTHER BUSES ALONG THE COAST/LES AUTRES LIGNES LITTORAL/ANDERE BUSSE/OUTROS AUTOCARROS AO LONGO DA COSTA

Other buses operate as follows:
Olhos D'Agua - Albufeira, about once an hour weekdays, less often at weekends. Times here
Pera - Alcantarilha - Armação de Pera irregular service, daily in summer. Times here
Lagoa - Portimão via Estombar - frequent but irregular, daily, until 2010. Times here.
Portimão to Praia da Rocha  - Local minibus route 33 daily - information here
Portimão - Penina - Local minibus routes 11 no service at weekends - information here
Portimão - Alvor direct (weekdays only) or daily via Torralta and Praia do Vau. Local minibus routes 13, 14 and 1P- information here
Portimão - Lagos via Odéaxere - about once every hour daily service until 2000. Times here
